Sam Smith has announced their third album, To Die For, which is set for release on 1 May.
The ‘How Do You Sleep?’ singer, 27, revealed the release date and stunning artwork for their upcoming LP on social media on Thursday (13 February).
“Gorgeous people, I’m so happy to see you all so excited about my new song, so I wanted to share another surprise…”, Sam wrote on Instagram.
“My THIRD album TO DIE FOR will be yours on May 1st!!!! You’ll be able to preorder tomorrow.
“I am more proud of this album than anything I’ve ever done. I’ve really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this and I hope you can dance and relate to these stories.
“It’s all for you, always xx”
Sam, who came out as non-binary last year, is set to release the fourth single from the album, ‘To Die For’, on Friday (14 February).
Dedicated to “all the lonely hearts out there” the Jimmy Napes and Stargate-produced track is a heartfelt ballad featuring soaring strings, mellow piano, and even a sample from 2001’s cult film drama Donnie Darko.
‘To Die For’ follows the release of recent singles ‘Dancing with a Stranger’, ‘How Do You Sleep’ and a cover of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’.
