Sam Smith: Troye Sivan’s voice ‘does things to my body’

By Shaun Kitchener

Sam Smith is the latest A-lister to pile the praise on rising out gay star Troye Sivan, whose EP WILD made a high debut on the UK chart yesterday (September 11).

The set bowed at No5, by far his best performance on our shores to date. Its title track also made a small dent on the singles rundown at No62, bettering the No86 peak of predecessor Happy Little Pill last year.

Smith, who ironically is one place higher than Sivan with his year-old In The Lonely Hour collection, posted the WILD artwork to Instagram with the caption: “My boy @troyesivan his voice does things to my body”. TMI, Samuel.

The Bond theme singer also tweeted a choice lyric, posting: “Kiss me on the mouth and set me free, but please don’t bite.”

Since WILD’s release last week, Taylor Swift has also made it known that she’s a big fan, saying:

That, in turn, sent Sivan into a bit of a tailspin, as it would:

When we reported last week that Sivan was up for a duet with Years & Years’ Olly Alexander, the King hitmaker was quick to respond with the suggestion of a Boy Is Mine style tour-de-force. We’re waiting, guys.
