Same-sex love takes centre stage in video for John Galea’s ‘When You Truly Love Someone’ – WATCH

Rising star John has unveiled the video for brand new single ‘When You Truly Love Somone’, which tells a dramatic tale of love, heartbreak and same-sex love.
The track is lifted from the singer-songwriter’s forthcoming EP Missing Pages, and stars former Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten as a bride who sees her husband-to-be decide to remain true to himself on the pair’s wedding day. left at the altar by the groom who runs to his male lover.
Galea, who is bisexual himself, says the heartfelt piano ballad’s subject matter was inspired by his own struggles for acceptance.
“I believe love transcends gender, and finding love can be a painful process so I wanted to write a song reflecting those feelings”, he says.
Galea has found international success since the release of his first two EPs The Scrapbook and Under Attack in 2012.
Originally from Norfolk and of Maltese descent, he has been making music since the age of 13 and has worked with producers including the Beluga Heights crew, who are known for their work with Jason Derulo.
‘When You Truly Love Someone’ is out now, with EP Missing Pages set for release on December 2.
