‘Scream 5’: Neve Campbell to return as Sidney Prescott
Looks like horror's ultimate final girl did pick up the phone.

Neve Campbell will officially reprise the iconic role of Sidney Prescott in Scream 5, it has been announced.
Campbell, 46, will join fellow franchise stars Courtney Cox and David Arquette in the upcoming horror sequel, which comes almost 10 years after 2011’s Scream 4 and 25 years after the original Scream in 1996.
In a statement, the actress confirmed that Scream 5 will remain in the fictional town of Woodsboro – the scene of the original Scream film’s grisly string of Ghostface murders.
“After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise,” she said.
“I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”
Campbell will be joined in Scream 5 by a host of franchise newcomers/bodies in waiting including Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Love, Victor), Kyle Gallner (Nightmare on Elm Street), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), and Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).
Returning from Scream 4 is Marley Shelton as Deputy Judy Hicks – and speculation is already circulating that there still might be more than meets the eye to the creepily comedic police officer.
Scream 5 is which is reportedly due to begin filming in North Carolina later this year ahead of a 2022 release. Until then, don’t pick up the phone…
