See Cumberbatch as Alan Turing in ‘The Imitation Game’

Two new images from Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game have been released online.

Benedict Cumberbatch is seen playing Turing in the photos, alongside an ensemble cast featuring Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode and Allen Leech.

The Imitation Game is the English language debut from director Morten Tyldum, and will be distributed by The Weinstein Company.

Meanwhile, the UK release date for the film was recently confirmed as November 14, with a US release a week later on November 21. The dates put the film in a prime position to pick up nominations in the 2015 awards season.

Earlier this year, Harvey Weinstein praised Cumberbatch for his performance as Turing, saying: “Alan Turing is not outwardly very sympathetic. He’s brilliant, but the way that Benedict Cumberbatch played him showed us these guys found the right level of vulnerability, genius and the arrogance of the character, too.”

Alan Turing was awarded a posthumous Icon award at last year’s Attitude Awards. Watch his niece Janet accepting the prize below:
