Simon Cowell has revealed that he is open to the idea of adopting a child.
The X Factor star became a father for the first time on Valentine’s Day last year with the birth of his son Eric.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Cowell spoke about extending his family with girlfriend that Lauren Silverman.
“Myself and Lauren want to have more children of our own but we could adopt as well. I wouldn’t rule out it happening. It’s a good idea,” he told the newspaper. “I’m beginning to warm to the idea of adopting.”
Cowell also spoke fondly of close friend Sinitta’s adopted children Magdalena and Zac, saying: “They are just so cute. I like them. I’ve known them since they were really young and they are great kids.”
Discussing how fatherhood has changed him, the 55-year-old admitted that he has become “softer”, but said that he would instill good manners in his son.
“I’m aware Eric could become a brat,” he said. “I’m going to make sure we teach him manners and to not talk down to people. I’m terrible at discipline but that’s all basic stuff.
“And the first thing I said to Lauren is we’ll teach him to always be kind to animals”
