Singer/songwriter Benedict Cork has released his brand new single ‘Therapy’.
The new single – which follows the release of his debut solo EP ‘Piano Tapes’ – retells his own personal life experiences when dealing with mental health issues after he began a course of therapy.
He says: “Last summer, I began a course of therapy that has honestly been life changing for me.
“There’s an anxiety that I’ve always experienced since being a kid that started affecting my day-to-day life and it all got a little bit overwhelming.
“Like many young men, I’d never really spoken about my mental health. I find it much easier to write my thoughts and emotions down in song than to discuss them with the people I love.”
Back in 2017, his relationship of three years broke down and he left his band and manager and fled London and found a home in Sweden.
It was here that he worked with some of his favourite artists and eventually fell back in love with making music again and hopes his new single will help those who felt ‘as lost’ as he did.
He adds: “This song is my way of acknowledging to myself that I was a little afraid of what was going on inside my head, and admitting that it’s OK to not be OK.
“I really hope this song might help somebody who felt as lost as I did.”
