Sinitta has suggested that John Barrowman should play Simon Cowell in the West End’s new X Factor musical I Can’t Sing.

Cowell’s right-hand woman is sent up affectionately in the musical, which opened to mostly positive reviews last week, appearing on her stage in her iconic Judges’ Houses palm leaf outfit.

“I loved my appearance in it! Seeing the leaf dress in a West End musical was just hilarious,” Sinitta told Attitude at our 20th birthday party at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Saturday night (March 29).

Continuing, Sinitta praised Nigel Harman’s performance as Cowell in the musical, saying: “I loved Nigel doing Simon’s whole ‘I’m faaaabulous’ thing. I think he out-Simoned Simon! Because he was just so camp and crazy.”

“I’ve already been thinking about re-casting. If Nigel leaves, I want John Barrowman to play Simon. Wouldn’t he be great?” she said.

Asked whether Cowell would approve of Barrowman playing him, Sinitta replied: “Yeah, I think he would. I don’t think he’s thought of it but I’m going to tell him later tonight when I see him at another party.”

Attitude‘s 20th birthday party took place on Saturday night (March 29) at The Grosvenor House Hotel in central London and featured exclusive performances from The Overtones and Holly Johnson, plus a DJ set from our first ever cover star, Boy George. Find out more about the night here.
