Stefano Gabbana has hit out at Sir Elton John for his response to an interview in which the designer spoke out against non-traditional families.

Gabbana and Domenico Dolce told Italian magazine Panorama that they “oppose gay adoptions”.

In the widely criticised interview, they went on to state: “The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Sir Elton, who has two children with husband David Furnish, expressed his disgust at the comments, calling for a boycott of the pair’s products.

However, after branding him a “fascist” in response, Gabbana then took to Instagram to mock the boycott supporters, sharing over 40 images of both criticism and support he had received.

Posting a screencap of the singer’s message, he asked: “This is ️the real respect for a different opinion????”
