Tales of the City star Marcus D’Amico has died at the age of 55.

The actor originated the role of Michael ‘Mouse’ Tolliver on the beloved 1993 miniseries, about a group LGBTQs in San Francisco.

In an email to Queerty, D’Amico’s sister Melissa confirmed he died of pneumonia while surrounded by family in Oxfordshire, England, on 16 December.

“I lost my beautiful brother”

From the Instagram profile of her talent agency, she also posted a photo of D’Amico, saying in a caption: “Not only have I lost my beautiful brother but the world has lost an incredibly talented actor and director.

“Words cannot express how much I miss him.”

Based on the iconic books by author Armistead Maupin, Tales was revived last year by Netflix, with Looking‘s Murray Bartlett taking on the role of Mouse.
