Taron Egerton says kissing men onscreen is no ‘less appealing’ than kissing women.
The actor is set to turn heads as he takes on the role as the iconic, openly gay singer Sir Elton John in the upcoming musical biopic Rocketman.
And although Taron identifies as straight – something which he recently clarified – he told the Hollywood Reporter that everyone is obsessed with the gay storyline but his sexuality didn’t stop him from embracing the part.
He said: “For me, kissing a man onscreen is no less appealing than kissing a woman onscreen.
“I’m not in any way repulsed by the male form. It’s an uncomfortable thing regardless of who you’re with — it makes no difference as to your sexual preference.”
In Attitude’s June issue – which is available to buy or download to any device now – the actor opens up about shooting sex scenes with co-star Richard Madden – who stars as John’s manager and first love John Reid.
“I felt Richard’s penis… On my leg,” he tells Attitude. “We shot a scene where we are both naked on a bed and we are rolling around. I don’t really know how much further we could have gone.
