Taron Egerton says he feels more at home in a gay club than at a football match
The actor is set to star as Sir Elton John in the upcoming biopic 'Rocketman'

Taron Egerton says he feels more at home in a gay club than at a football match.
The actor – who recently clarified his sexuality – is set to appear as Sir Elton John in the upcoming biopic Rocketman and although he shot to fame as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in the Kingsman films, Taron admitted he felt like an ‘imposter’ in the action franchise.
Speaking to GQ’s May issue, he said: “Without ever wishing to seem ungrateful for the Kingsman thing, as much as I love the films, especially the first, I will always feel like something of an imposter in that world.
“The ‘guy’, the ‘bro’, the ‘stunt guy’. I’ve never been that guy. I’m just not.
“I’m the guy who was playing Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors when he was 17. I always felt more at home in a gay club than at a football match, far more at home.”
Dexter Fletcher has helmed the film, which has been written by Lee Hall, the man behind Billy Elliot the Musical and the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley
Egerton stars alongside Richard Madden, Jamie Bell, Gemma Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Rocketman will be released this May.
