Tessa Thompson always intended to play Valkyrie as bisexual
The Marvel character is openly bisexual in the comic series

Tessa Thompson said she intended to play Valkyrie as bisexual.
The Asgardian warrior first appeared in Thor: Ragnarok and following the release of the third Thor movie, Thompson revealed she had shot a scene which addressed the Marvel character’s sexuality.
However, the scene was cut from the final edit despite the superhero being bisexual in the comic book series.
And now, while attending the Los Angeles premiere of Avengers: Endgame – in which Thompson is reportedly returning as the Asgardian – the actress revealed she always intended to play the character as bisexual.
Thompson told Variety: “In the canon, [Valkyrie] is bisexual. You see her with women and men, so that was my intention in playing her.
“Obviously, at the forefront of most of these stories is not typically their romantic life. They have big stakes, like saving the world, so that tends to sort of trump.”
Avengers: Endgame is set to hit UK cinemas this Thursday (April 25).
