Tessa Thompson reveals her Marvel Cinematic Universe character Valkyrie will be looking for her ‘Queen’ in Thor 4.
The actress portrayed the Asgardian warrior in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame – where she was made king of Asgard by Thor – and during San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that the God of Thunder will have one more outing in Thor: Love and Thunder.
And while addressing cheering fans, Thompson revealed her character will be looking for a ‘queen’ making her the first official LGBTQ superhero.
She said: “As new king, she needs to find her queen. That will be her first order of business. She has some ideas. Keep you posted.”

Although during Thor: Ragnarok, Valkyrie reportedly came out as bisexual – which the character identifies in the comics – the scene was cut from the cinematic release, but it seems the MCU are pushing for more LGBTQ representation and it’s about time.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see Chris Hemsworth returning as the God of Thunder with Ragnarok director Taiki Waititi back to helm the production.
More excitingly, Natalie Portman is set to reprise her role as Jane Foster who will also be Lady Thor.
Writing on Instagram, Portman posted a photo holding Thor’s iconic hammer and said: “So thrilled to share the news with you today at #sdcc2019 that I’ll be returning to the @marvel #mcu as female Thor with legends @taikawaititi @tessamaethompson and @chrishemsworth. (Remember this as the before picture for when I get jacked)”
Could Portman and Thompson portray the first ever LGBTQ relationship in the MCU?
