The final trailer for the Black Widow standalone movie has been released and we cannot contain our excitement.
The film is set before the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame – where Black Widow tragically gave her life for the Soul Stone.
Scarlett Johansson is back as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow who finds herself alone and forced to confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past.
Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Romanoff must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Who is Taskmaster?
Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and David Harbour also star in the production – which is set for release in May this year – and in the new trailer, we see the villain of the movie Taskmaster showing off their skills.
The identity of Taskmaster has not been revealed – or who is playing them – making fans believe that Weisz’ character could be the villian in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
Taskmaster is capable of mirroring the fighting techniques of other superheroes and we see the character wielding a bow like Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and throwing a shield much like Captain America does.
Most of the final trailer emphasises the relationship between Johansson and Pugh’s roles in the movie.
We also see a glimpse of William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross – the United States Secretary of State and a former US Army general – who was last seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame, attending Tony Stark’s funeral with a number of other characters from the MCU.
