The Flash actor Rick Cosnett has come out as gay.

The actor is best known for playing Eddie Thawne in the hit superhero TV series as well as playing Wes Maxfield in the hit vampire teen drama The Vampire Diaries and Elias Harper in Quantico.

And now, the actor has posted a video on Instagram where he opens up about his sexuality and says he wants to ‘live my truth’.

In the short video, which has been praised by fellow Vampire Diaries stars, Cosnett says: “I am gay. And I just wanted everyone to know.

“Because I’ve made a promise to myself to live my truth every day. And sometimes that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconscious things you don’t even know about from childhood and society and just life.

“I am sure most of you probably knew anyway. I also have a stye in my eye which really adds to the whole drama of the whole thing.”
