By Sam Rigby
is to close after just a month on London’s West End.
The play – based on the 1997 hit film of the same name – had been set to run until mid-June, but will now close on Saturday, March 29.
The Simon Beaufoy play opened at the Noël Coward Theatre in the capital on February 25.
Kenny Doughty – who plays Gaz in the production – said that he is “devastated and heartbroken” by the news.
He wrote on Facebook: “Yesterday, on the day we had two full houses and two standing ovations, in the week our play got an Olivier nomination, we were given the shocking news that the play is being pulled.
“I am utterly devastated not only for myself but for every single soul that has given their all for this play. We deserved better.”
The Full Monty is nominated for Best Comedy at the 2014 Olivier Awards.
