The Vamps perform ‘All Night’ live at the Attitude Awards

We never had any doubts about the boys’ stamina…

By Thomas Stichbury

The Vamps want us to know that they can go all night – with a performance of their smash-hit song, erm, ‘All Night’ at the 2020 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar.

Last month (December), the boys raised the roof during the virtual ceremony when they took to the stage at London’s Roundhouse for a rousing rendition of ‘Married in Vegas’, from latest chart-topping album Cherry Blossom.

But the band – who presented Yungblud with the Game Changer Award – had a surprise up their sleeves and they also performed the fan favourite number from their 2017 offering Night & Day. They’re generous like that.

Appearing in the Attitude December issue, Brad Simpson, James McVey, Tristan Evans and bassist Connor Ball reflected on their huge LGBTQ+ following.

“We’ve had amazing moments with fans over the years, who have spoken to us in meet-and-greets. I remember one in particular, where they came up and were like, ‘Your music really helped us to gain the confidence to come out,” Brad recalled.

Tristan, meanwhile, opened up about his brother coming out to him, describing it as “one of the most beautiful moments in my life, one hundred percent.”

“He came out quite late – I think he was 27 – and I was one of the last people he told,” he recalls. “He said, ‘I was more worried about what the people close to me would think,” and I thought that was crazy.”

“We live in 2020 and everyone, whatever they are, wherever they come from, whatever they look like, should be accepted… He [my brother] is much more himself today because he came out, and I’m just so proud of him.”
