Theroux on jogging scene: ‘I wore two pairs of underwear!’

Justin Theroux has revealed that he actually wore two pairs of underwear during his infamous “flopping” jogging scene on HBO’s The Leftovers.

Caps of the actor’s inadequately-supported package were rapidly shared online after the first episode of the dark drama premiered in June – and Theroux’s co-star, Liv Tyler, later admitted that she was “distracted” by the contents of his jogging bottoms when she watched the scene.

During an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s US chatshow earlier this week, Theroux was asked about the fuss caused by the scene – and revealed that the show’s wardrobe team actually attempted to make his intimate parts less prominent after spotting a potential problem during filming.

“When I went to get my wardrobe for the second jogging scene way later, there was my jogging pants and two pairs of underwear in the dressing room,” Theroux recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, I can clearly choose between two…’ and they were like, ‘No, they want you to wear them both.”
