Frankie Grande has explained what his new ‘throuple’ relationship works and claimed it is ‘ethical and committed’.
The singer and reality TV star, has been seeing Mike Pophis, a doctor, and his husband Daniel Sinasohn, a legal clerk, for three months.
The trio have regularly shared pictures of themselves on Instagram over the last few weeks, but Grande reportedly confirmed to Us Weekly that the relationship was romantic at Bette Midler’s Halloween bash last week.
And now, the reality TV star has opened up about his first relationship in nine years – and the first since being sober – and he told Access Live: “I’d been single for nine years, so I was very open to the possibilities of what love looks like, or what love could be, and it just happened.
“We met each other, we had common interests and we started dating.”
He revealed how he met the married couple while he was hosting a charity gala and said that the couple take care of him and buy him a lot of things – sounds perfect!
Frankie continued: “They do take care of me and they pay for things a lot, which is lovely.
“Also I’ve been single for nine years so this is all new for me, everything about it is new including dating in general.
“It’s also my first relationship in sobriety, which is a lot of things. [I’ve been sober for] 17 months and 2 days, so I’m very excited about that. It feels like I’m a brand new person again.”
Many people speculated that the relationship is an open one but Frankie confirmed that there is “no cheating” and that they are like a triangle.
He continued: “No, it’s not. It is an ethical and committed non-monogamy. So everyone knows what’s going on, there’s no cheating, we’re actually in it together.
“I say it’s like a triangle, which is the strongest shape. There’s three people in it so we can all pick up the things and the slack. It’s great.”
