Oscar winner Russell Crowe is selling off his collection of film memorabilia.
The Hollywood star, who took home an Academy Award for his role in 2001 movie Gladiator, is currently going through a divorce with actress Danielle Spencer.
In order to help himself move on, the actor has decided to sell a number of items that he collected during their 14-year marriage.
It just so happens that one of the stranger items happens to be – wait for it – a jockstrap that Russell wore in the film Cinderella Man.
No, seriously.
The lot is listed on auction website Sothebys, and is described as a “brown leather boxer’s protector”.
“It featured in the scene depicting the Heavy Weight Championship bout, James J. Braddockvs. Max Baer on 13 June 1935, brown suede leather with elastic support. Accompanied by a letter from Russell Crowe stating his ownership,” states the listing.
It’s set to sell for around $600. Somehow we doubt we’d be able to sell our old underwear on eBay for the same price.
Happy bidding, guys.
