Thom Evans: ‘I auditioned for Fifty Shades of Grey’
By Josh Haggis
Thom Evans talks about auditioning for the highly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation in the latest issue of Attitude.
The hunky former Rugby player – who has a hot new shoot in the mag – reveals that he tried out for the iconic role of Christian Grey, which eventually went to The Fall actor Jamie Dornan.
“I actually went up for Jamie’s role of Christian Grey. The audition was pretty tame to be honest, but it was a great experience for me,” explains Thom. “It’s such a huge project and I’d be lying to say I wouldn’t have loved to have got the role. But I think Jamie is perfect for it and I can’t wait to see it.”
“Jamie Dornan is a role model. He’s flourishing in the acting world, and if I could do half as well as he has I’d be more than happy,” he says. “I would love to play that kind of character [a sadistic killer ] it would be just the kind of thing I’d love to do.I really like dark independent films. But right now, I would love the opportunity to take on any role,” he adds.
The new issue – the Travel Issue – also includes interviews with Imitation Game star and Oscar front-runner Benedict Cumberbatch and legendary British actress Amanda Barrie, as well as hot new shoots with Shayne Ward and Thom Evans.
In the Travel Issue we also delve into the best gay destinations you never thought to explore, the old classics, and examine the recent spate of LGBT people being arrested and imprisoned in countries where being gay is illegal.
