Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer are ‘1000% in’ for Call Me By Your Name sequel
Timothée Chalamet says he and Armie Hammer are ready for a sequel to the Award-winning film.
Timothée Chalamet revealed this week that he and Armie Hammer are definitely on board for the sequel to the Academy Award-winning film Call Me By Your Name.
Director Luca Guadagnino previously announced plans to revisit the characters in a sequel which is expected to take place five or six years in the future.
While many people have been calling for a follow-up, the movie’s screenwriter James Ivory, who adapted Andre Aciman’s novel of the same name for the film, has criticised the idea.
However, in an interview with Time Magazine, Timothée Chalamet has hinted that a sequel to the film is underway, saying: “I don’t see any world where it doesn’t happen.
“I think André is comfortable with a sequel being made. I know Luca really wants. And I know Armie and I are 1000% in.”
Chalamet then explained that the sequel would be set a couple of years in the future as Guadagnino already announced.
He explained: “I think it’ll be a couple of years later. And I think that’s cool – to take advantage of the Boyhood style of storytelling. That isn’t done all the time.”
Guadagnino previously shared hopes that a sequel to the film would explore the AIDS crisis while taking place in Berlin during 1989.
