Tina Turner documentary TINA is to drop on altitude.film and Sky Documentaries this April, it has been announced.

A first-look picture of Tina from the movie has also been released [above], showing the star rocking out in the studio on an unspecified date.

The film charts everything from the icon’s early career as the queen of R&B to her career resurgence and record-breaking sell-out arena tours of the 80s.

“Revealing her innermost struggles”

According to filmmakers, the doc will see Tina ‘draw back the curtain to invite us into her private world in a way she has never done before […], revealing her inner-most struggles, and sharing some of her most personal moments.’

TINA is directed by Academy Award-winners Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin. It will air on HBO in the US on 27 March.

Tina is known for epic hits including ‘Simply the Best’, ‘Private Dancer’, ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’ and ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ – the latter given a truly epic remix by Kygo in 2020 [above].

She has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
