Troye Sivan has made his first musical moves of 2021 after joining forces with singer Tate McRae on ‘You’, the new single from DJ and producer Regard.
Troye, 25, has lent his trademark sultry vocals to the ’80s-inspired anthem from Kospovan hit-maker Regard, whose recent single ‘Secrets’ featuring RAYE was recently nominated for Best British Single at the 2021 Brits Awards.
‘You’, which marks the first new music from Troye since he teamed up with Kacey Musgraves and Mark Ronson for a remix of this track ‘Easy’ in December,.
The track sees the Australian singer lovestruck as he sings: “When I try to fall back I fall back to you / When I talk to my friends I talk about you / When the Hennessy’s strong all I see is you.”
Speaking on the new track, Regard says: “I’m so excited that ‘You’ is finally being released! The entire song gives me wavy emotions with the angelic vocals from Tate and Troye”.
17-year-old McRae, who scored a UK Top Five hit last year with ‘You Broke Me First’, adds: “Collaborating with Troye and Regard was an amazing experience. It’s a totally different vibe than any of my usual songs, but still has the emotional and lyrical depth that I always try to write.”
