Troye Sivan has confirmed the name of his upcoming second studio album ahead of its expected release this summer.
The 22-year-old singer and Attitude cover star, who released the sexy, summery ‘Bloom’ as the third single from the record last week, revealed on Twitter on Thursday (May 10) that the album will share its name with the song.
Of course, given that ‘Bloom’ has been interpreted by fans as an ode to, oh how do we put this… erm, accepting a man’s love, that’s a pretty unapologetically queer title indeed.
Teasing Bloom’s direction in Attitude’s new-look June issue – available to download and in shops now – Troye admits his sexed-up new image and sound was simply a natural reflection of his life as a young gay man.
“The album is definitely intimate,” he says. “I thought: ‘I have to be honest about what’s going on in my life’. I wanted it to feel grimy and sexy.”
The ‘My My My! singer continues: “It felt really natural. I mean, this wasn’t me thinking to myself ‘Oh, it’s time to grow up and have my ‘sexy phase’ or whatever. I just sort of started to become more comfortable with sharing.
“For me, the goal of the whole project is to be the representation for somebody else that I don’t feel I’ve necessarily had always.

“I would think that you would play these songs to any 22-year-old gay guy and they would be like ‘Yeah, I get that, that’s where I’m at’.
“I just wanted it to be honest and real, and if honest and real right now happens to be ‘sexy warehouse party’ then that’s where it is.”
