The return of Twin Peaks in 2016 is back on!
After the project was thrown into doubt earlier this year, creator David Lynch confirmed via Twitter that the Showtime revival is “happening again”.
And if that wasn’t enough good news, the return of the cult hit – which starred Sherilyn Fenn and Kyle MacLachlan – will be longer than the originally planned nine episodes.
Showtime president David Nevin said: “David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours.
“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark [Frost] and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected… Pre production starts now!!”
The new series is expected to pick up 25 years after the events of the second season finale in 1991.
