‘Walking Dead’ actor: ‘I would have rocked a gay storyline’
By Josh Haggis
Walking Dead
actor Norman Reedus has said that he would have “rocked” a gay storyline on the show.
Back in September, Reedus fuelled speculation that his character Daryl was going to come out as gay. However, the show’s creator Robert Kirkman later confirmed that despite Reedus’ suggestions, his character is completely heterosexual. Find out more here.
In a new interview on US late night talk show Conan, Reedus revealed that not all fans of the show appeared to be entirely happy with the idea that tough man Daryl could be gay.
“I would go to these conventions, and you’d have these little kids: ‘Man, I don’t care what’s going on, you’re awesome!’ And then you’d have guys my age, or a bit older be like: ‘Uuuhhhhhhh.’ And then you’d have women, they were like: ‘You’d better not be!’” said Reedus.
“To tell you the truth, if that’s the story they gave me, I’d rock that story. I’m not afraid,” he added.
Meanwhile, the introduction of two new gay characters on the show caused a huge online backlash last week – find out more here.
