Watch | Fleur East slays X Factor return with ‘one of the best ever’ live performances
By Will Stroude
She might have been pipped to the post by Ben Haenow, but Fleur East proved who the real winner of last year’s X Factor was during the ITV singing competition’s Sunday night results show this weekend (November 8).
Fleur returned to the scene of her runner-up finish in 2014 for the first live performance of her debut single ‘Sax’, and sent fans into meltdown with a routine that Simon Cowell called “one of the best” he had ever seen on the show.
Nailing dance moves, high notes and even back-flips, the 28-year-old served some serious Janet Jackson vibes as she belted out the ‘Uptown Funk’-inspired track, which has already climbed to Number 2 on the UK iTunes chart, behind only Adele’s ‘Hello’.
Thankfully the performance has already been put online, so you can kiss goodbye to your Monday morning and relive it to your heart’s content – though as judge Nick Grimshaw has pointed out, you recreate the moves at your own peril…
i've pulled my groin trying to recreate @FleurEast's performance of Sax

‘Sax’ is the first single from Fleur’s upcoming debut album Love, Sax and Flashbacks, out December 4.
How incredible was that Fleur performance tonight. One of the best I have ever seen
