Watch: Gaga hits the dance floor for Chic disco remake
By Nick Bond
Well, this is a nice surprise. While we await news of her next album – which Sir Elton John himself has teased is sounding ‘absolutely fabulous‘ – Lady Gaga’s treated us today with a new song AND music video of sorts.
Gaga’s teamed up with designer Tom Ford, director Nick Knight and legendary music man Nile Rodgers for a faithful cover of Rodgers’ own band Chic’s disco classic, I Want Your Love. The video sees Gaga vamping and vogueing amongst a bevy of models – check it out:
“Instead of having a traditional show this season, I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online,” fashion designer Ford explained of the video on his official website.
“I have always loved Soul Train, which used to be on TV in the ’70s, as it was as much about the clothes as the music.
“I asked Nile Rodgers to collaborate on a new version of one of his great hits from that time, ‘I Want Your Love’, and worked with Gaga to record the vocals.”
Much as we enjoyed her forays into jazz with Tony Bennett, we’ve gotta admit: we’re happy to see Gaga back on the dance floor.
