The first official trailer for DC’s Birds of Prey film has been released.
Margot Robbie is set to reprise her role as the DC villain Harley Quinn – a role she made famous in Suicide Squad – alongside Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Black Canary), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Huntress), and Rosie Perez (Renee Montoya).
The description of the film reads: “After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord, Black Mask in Gotham City.”
In the brand new trailer, red balloons float around the screen making a direct reference to It: Chapter Two‘s clown villain Pennywise.
When Harley Quinn – who is bisexual in the DC comics – turns up and pops the balloons with her hammer saying: “I’m so over clowns.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Ewan McGregor will be starring as villain Black Mask and will go head-to-head against the female anti-heroes.
It was reported that the Gotham City crime lord Black Mask will be gay but claims his sexuality is never ‘explicitly stated’.
We Got This Covered – a Rotten Tomatoes-accredited site – said: “Though [Black Mask’s] sexuality is never explicitly stated [in the film], multiple sources have told We Got This Covered that the sexual tension between him and fellow villain Victor Zsasz will be palpable and the way he acts in general makes it pretty clear that he’s gay.”
