Watch Jamie Dornan, Gillian Anderson in ‘The Fall’ trailer

The BBC have debuted a new trailer for the upcoming second series of The Fall.

The crime drama, which stars Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson, was renewed for a six-episode second series last May (2013), after becoming BBC Two’s highest rated drama in eight years when it aired last year.

The eerie new trailer features serial killer Paul Spector (Dornan) sitting motionless while he watches police officer Stella Gibson (Anderson) as she lays asleep on a bed in a darkened room.

Merlin actor Colin Morgan has joined the cast for the second series as police officer Tom Anderson, who will join Gibson in her hunt for Spector.

Teasing fans about what they can expect from the new episodes, Dornan – who recently wrapped filming on the ’50 Shades of Grey’ film – said: “We’re going to see more of Spector, but in a slightly different light. I can’t say too much more than that.”

Series two of The Fall will debut on BBC Two this autumn.
