Watch: John Grant announces third studio album
By Will Stroude
Iconic gay singer-songwriter John Grant has announced the release of his third studio album.
Grey Tickles, Black Pressure will serve as Grant’s third solo LP, following 2010′ Queen of Denmark and 2013’s Pale Green Ghosts.
The US singer-songwriter – formerly of Denver-based alt-rock band The Czars – will release the record on the October 2, and has unleashed a rather harrowing album trailer to accompany the announcement.
The 46-year-old – who received a Best International Male Solo Artist nomination at the 2014 BRITS Awards – said in a statement: “I do think the album’s great, and I’m really proud of it. I wanted to get moodier and angrier on this record, but I probably had a lot more fun making it.”
Grant won Attitude’s Man of the Year Award at the Attitude Awards 2013, after publicly revealing he was HIV-positive the previous year. He previously described his experiences of coming out on the gay scene as “brutal”.
Grey Tickles, Black Pressure is available to pre-order now on iTunes.
