Kesha may have lost out on her first Grammy last night, but she came away from the awards show as the real winner.
The singer took to the stage during last night’s ceremony to perform her smash hit single Praying, which was up for Best Pop Vocal Performance.
The Die Young singer invited some of the world’s biggest female pop stars, including Camila Cabello and Julia Michaels, to perform alongside her and unite to stand with her and the #MeToo movement.
It was a striking message that resonated with social media, and made the Academy’s snub of the singer ever more frustating when she lost in both categories she was nominated in to men.
It was a tough night for the the women in the industry, who watched as men walked away with all but one of the big caterogy awards.
To make matters worse, reports claimed that every Album of the Year nominee was invited to perform apart from Lorde, who just so happened to be the only female in the category.
Meanwhile, other stars that peformed last night included Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
