Watch: Magic Mike XXL star Matt Bomer responds brilliantly to gay-related questions

During a promotional interview for Magic Mike XXL, out gay actor Matt Bomer politely deflected a couple of provocative questions from HolaHollywood.com’s Dulce Osuna.

Joined by co-star Donald Glover, Bomer was asked twice whether he practised his Magic Mike XXL choreography on husband Simon Halls. Bomer replied by saying he would be knackered at the end of the day, also mentioning his kids to give Osuna a hint.

Osuna then pointed out that Magic Mike XXL was as much for the gays as for the ladies and asked Bomer whether he thought gay audiences are harder to please.

“I don’t know. I mean, why would I ever try to boil down an entire community into a yes-or-no question?” Bomer said without missing a beat. “It’s like, would you feel comfortable if I said ‘Are women harder or easier to please?’

“I mean no, I think one of the things you learn from this movie is that everybody is different,” he added. “It’s all about communication and a dialogue between individuals – get rid of the labels, get rid of the shame, get rid of the stigmas and just be your most authentic self and try to make sure that we take these stigmas off sex and make it a dialogue about those two individuals.”
