Watch Meryl Streep sing in new ‘Into The Woods’ preview

A new preview of Disney’s Into The Woods has offered a first glimpse of Meryl Streep’s musical performance.
Disney’s movie-musical – which also stars Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt and James Corden and more – is the long-awaited big screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning 1987 Broadway show.
Streep’s Witch has been given an original song to perform in the film, which could result in an Oscar nomination next year.
The plot of Into The Woods fuses all the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale characters and their stories – from Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella, to Jack and the Beanstalk – as the Baker (Corden) and his wife (Blunt) attempt to lift the curse of infertility cast upon them by the Witch.
The film also features Frances de la Tour as the Giant’s Wife, Simon Russell Beale as the Baker’s Father and Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s Stepmother.
Into the Woods will be released in UK cinemas on January 9, 2015, with a US release scheduled for Christmas Day.
