Watch Paloma Faith’s show-stopping performance of ‘Better Than This’ at the Attitude Awards

Paloma Faith turned in a stunning performance of her recent single ‘Better Than This’ at the 2020 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar this week.

The star received Honorary Gay award at this year’s ceremony, which aired on Tuesday 1 December – World Aids Day.

The haunting track is taken from The Voice Kids coach’s new album Infinite Things, which was released last month and promptly entered the charts at number four.

Paloma’s performance followed her fierce awards acceptance speech, during which she discussed Amanda Holden, fisting and finding her tribe. 

“This award means so much to me, because I consider you to be my tribe,” she enthused. “Everyone in the LGBTQI+ community. You always have been and always will be. From my early days as a wayward kid to my adulthood where mine and my lip-syncing friends would have interchangable wardrobes.”

Speaking on the red carpet of Tuesday’s awards, Paloma faith said she’s faced a “witch hunt” for saying she’d embrace an LGBTQ child.

“When talking about children and gender and also sexuality, I pretty much will accept anything,” the Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer told us. “I said that quite openly in the press and there was a bit of a witch hunt for me, at some stage. Criticising me. Some people called me a child abuser.

“I wanted to take this minute to say that I think that’s appalling. And that yes, if my child was gay, or was a transgender child, I would embrace whatever they wanted, in the moment they wanted. Even if they wanted to change their mind a million times in their lifetimes, I feel I would accept that – because it’s personal choice – and support.

“So I don’t have an issue, when thinking about being a parent, about that sort of stuff. It’s just that it’s tragic to me that when I talk about it, how rude the media has been about that. So I’m willing to fight.”
