The next episode of Glee to air in the US will feature a homophobic attack – watch a preview below.

The episode is titled Bash and US network Fox’s official plot synopsis reads: “Rachel takes the next step in committing to her role in Funny Girl. Meanwhile, Kurt is the victim of an attack because of his sexual preference.”

According to US website Wetpaint , Chris Colfer’s character Kurt will happen upon two men attacking another victim, and steps in after hearing them use a gay slur. The two men then punch Kurt and hit him over the head with a blunt object, before leaving him on the ground in the alley.

Glee, which has tackled a range of issues since it began in 2009 including coming out, teen suicide and the passing of actor Cory Monteith, is now onto its fifth season.

Bash will air on US network Fox next Tuesday (April 8). In the UK, the show currently airs on Sky1.
