Watch | Sharon Osborne kicks stage invader at People’s Choice Awards
By Will Stroude
Sharon Osborne isn’t exactly renowned for her shy and retiring demeanor, and one stage invader learned not to mess with Mrs O the hard way after interrupting an acceptance speech during the People’s Choice Awards last night (January 6).
Sharon and her fellow The Talk panellists were accepting an award for Favourite Daytime TV Hosting Team at the star-studded bash in LA ,when an audience member jumped up on stage, grabbed the microphone and began referencing songs by that other notorious stage invader, Kanye West.
Osborne’s fellow host Sheryl Underwood quickly pushed the intruder aside, telling him, “You ain’t gonna pull no Steve Harvey up in here” – a reference to the Miss Universe host who recently caused controversy after announcing the wrong winner during the show’s grand final.
Sharon quickly took things up a notch however, helping kick the man off stage by quite literally kicking him – twice – before giving him the finger and telling him to “get the f**k off my stage”.
Continuing the speech, Sarah Gilbert said: “I think that we feel like we are the motley crew of misfits,” before fellow panellist Aisha Tyler quipped: “But that guy is not in our club.”
Maybe this guy will think more carefully about who he chooses to interrupt in future – check out the incident below:
Last night’s People’s Choice Awards were held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, with the likes of Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears also being honoured with accolades, which are voted for by the public.
