Watch Sinead O’ Connor’s wig-snatching new video

Sinead O’ Connor has released the video for her new single Take Me to Church, which references her classic hit Nothing Compares 2 U.

The opening moments of the clip show the singer in the dark, with the iconic video for her signature hit – which topped the charts in both the UK and the US in 1990 – projected over her face.

Meanwhile, the video also features a scene in which O’Connor snatches off her own wig, suggesting she may have watched one or two episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race recently.

Take Me To Church is the first single from O’Connor’s forthcoming tenth album, I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss, which is released next Monday (August 11).
