Watch the first trailer for ‘The Penguins of Madagascar’

Dreamworks has debuted the first trailer for forthcoming Madagascar spin-off movie The Penguins of Madagascar.

Mischievous penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private have featured in all three previous Madagascar films, and the trailer sees them team up to take down the dastardly Dr Octavius Brine, who is voiced by actor John Malkovich.

Tom McGrath, John DiMaggio, Chris Miller, and Christopher Knights provide the voices of the loveable flock of birds, while Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to Agent Classified, who leads a covert protective force of animals in the film.

The Madagascar film series tells the stories of four zoo animals who are unexpectedly shipped back to Africa after spending their lives in a New York zoo. The franchise has already spawned three hugely successful films, and a fourth is due for release in 2018.

The Penguins of Madagascar will open in UK cinemas on December 5. Watch the trailer below:
