Waylon Smithers to come out as gay in new Simpsons episode

Waylon Smithers, personal assistant to Mr. Burns and avid Malibu Stacy collector, is to finally come out as gay to his boss in a new episode of cult TV show The Simpsons. Although the majority of Springfield know that Smithers is gay, this episode, entitled ‘The Burns Cage,’ will see him coming clean with his long-apparent feelings for his ignorant boss. Devastated by Burns’ lack of affection, Homer Simpson takes it upon himself to find Smithers a boyfriend with a dating app.

The ‘coming out’ episode is scheduled to air on Fox on April 3rd.
