Wentworth Miller teases return in ‘Prison Break’ revival
By Will Stroude
Former Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has teased that he could well be returning for the show’s potential revival series.
The 42-year-old – who came out as gay in 2013 in an open letter protesting against Russian anti-gay laws – teased fans that despite his character Michael Schofield’s apparent demise in the series’ final episodes, he was involved in “conversations” about the show’s return.
Asked whether Fox’s continuation of the action drama – which ran for four seasons between 2005 and 2009 – was still in the pipeline, Miller told TVLine: “That’s in the offing, yeah.”
“Conversations are happening,” he added, before teasing that everything he said was “assuming Michael is still alive.”
His co-star Dominic Purcell pointed out that the show had a history of bringing supposedly-dead characters back onscreen, following Sara Tancredi’s (Sarah Wayne Callies) apparent death in season 3 and subsequent return in season 4.
“I mean, Sara was dead,” he said. “The [concept] that I’ve heard is completely brilliant, so people will be fine.”
While Prison Break’s potential return is still in the early stages, it is thought any revival will be in a similar fashion to what Fox did with last year’s one-off 24 comeback, 24: Live Another Day. But honestly, we’ll take whatever Wentworth screen time we can get.
We recently celebrated Miller’s 42nd(!) birthday with a look at this hottest ever moments – and boy were there plenty to choose from. Check ’em out here.
