Rumours of a Will & Grace reunion have been denied by NBC, the US TV network that aired the hit sitcom throughout its eight-season run.

It was reported yesterday (April 22) that a one-off special was in the works – and the four main cast members, Eric McCormack (Will), Debra Messing (Grace), Sean Hayes (Jack) and Megan Mullally (Karen), were all said to be “on board”.

However, in a statement to Buzzfeed, a representative for NBC has dismissed these reports, saying there is “no truth” in them.

In regards to a possible reunion, the representative said: “I can’t speak for ‘ever’ but there are no talks right now.”

Meanwhile, Jack actor Sean Hayes has also poured cold water on the reports in the tweet that appears below.

The hit US sitcom about a gay man, Will, and his straight female best friend, Grace, originally ran on NBC for 184 episodes between 1998 and 2006. In the UK, Will & Grace aired first on LIVING and then on Channel 4.
