Just weeks after making a surprise return to music with a brand new single, album announcment and UK tour, Will Young has revealed he’s also become an author.
The star’s first book, How to Be Gay will see Young delve into his own personal battle with ‘gay shame’ and the psychological issues which continue to plague LGBTQ people growing up in a hostile society.
The book, which is set to be released in Spring 2020 is available to pre-order on Amazon, sees the Pop Idol winner “calling for an end to society’s legacy of gay shame, revealing the impact it had on his own life, how he learned to deal with it and how to be gay and happy.”
Announcing the book on Twitter, Young, who has co-hosted gay discussion podcast ‘Homo Sapiens’ since 2017, said: “I’ve written a book! Thank you to everyone who helped make, ‘How To Be A Gay Man’ happen and I can’t wait for you all to read it!”
The news comes after Young, 40, returned to the pop spotlight last month with his stellar comeback single ‘All the Songs’ and the announcement of his seventh stuido album, Lexicon, set for release on June 14.
The ‘Leave Right Now’ singer is also set to embark on a UK-wide tour this October – you can check out the full list of dates here.
