Yungblud tore up the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on Wednesday (4 September) with a performance that saw the pop-rock renegade put his own unique twist on not one, not two, but three tracks from some of our fellow faves.
Attitude’s September Style issue cover star, who recently opened up about his fluid approach to sexuality, treated Radio 1 listeners to a mash-up of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s ‘Senorita’ Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ and Travis Scott’s ‘Goosebumps’ during special performance in London.
The 22-year-old singer, real name Dom Harrison, showcased the anarchic atttitude and pop-rock sensibility that’s seen him become one of the most exciting British breakout stars of the last 12 months.
Speaking exclusively in Attitude’s September Style issue, Yungblud – whose debut album 21st Century Liability was released last summer – admits that gender doesn’t factor into his thoughts about sex and relationships.
“If I fell in love with a trans person, it’s just the way it is”, the Yorkshire-born singer says. “It’s on a deeper level. It doesn’t matter what you’ve got. It’s not about having a dick or a pussy.”
The ‘Hope for the Underrated Youth singer goes on: ” am more straight. [But if] I walked down the street and met a f**king bloke tomorrow, or a trans person, you never know.
“It’s about connection. I’m very fluid about it.”
