Yvie Oddly has revealed who she wants to see in season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and All Stars 5.
Mama Ru announced yesterday (August 19) that the Emmy Award winning show will be returning to VH-1 for a twelfth season – as well as announcing All Stars 5.
And while speaking exclusive to Attitude’s August issue, Yvie – who took the title at the end of season 11 – revealed who she wants to see in the upcoming seasons.
She said: “I want to see Vanjie on my screen for the rest of my life.
“I’d also like to see Nina back because her biggest issue in the competition was fighting herself. I think she’d go back and slay it.
“From Denver, the top of my list is probably Willow Pill. She’s creative, hard-working and a little blunt – like me.”
Over the seasons, fans and even some queens have called for the show to take a break but it seems it isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
And although taking the crown last season, Yvie says she has ‘complex feelings’ to whether the show needs to take a break.
She continued: “I have complex feelings, it’s beautiful how much representation queer people are getting now because of the show.
“On one hand, I would like more and more Drag Race, however, I think it kind of waters down what we actually have to offer the world.
“It starts to be seen through this two-dimensional perspective of what we expect from drag, which is why I enjoyed going in and now winning this, because I’ve seen a formula building up, where if you have a lot of money and you wear something really sparkly, no matter what your back story is, the general public is going to fall in love with you.
“I wanted to shake that up and remind people that this art form is a queer art form.”
