Zachary Quinto joins James Franco in gay film ‘Michael’
By Sam Rigby

Zachary Quinto is to play James Franco’s ex-boyfriend in forthcoming gay-themed film Michael.
The film follows the life of former gay activist Michael Glatze, who is now an anti-gay pastor married to a woman.
Franco is taking on the title role in the film, while Quinto has signed up to appear as Glatze’s former boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Emma Roberts has also joined the film as Glatze’s straight love interest, Variety reports.
“This isn’t just a story about an ‘ex-gay,’” director Justin Kelly said. “It’s actually a very relatable story about the power of belief and the desire to belong.”
Glatze was the co-founder of Young Gay America and a strong advocate for gay rights, before denouncing homosexuality and turning to religion after a health scare in recent years. He married a woman in 2013.
