Factory International is pulling out all the stops this June with House of MCR, a three-night extravaganza that will leave you breathless and begging for more.
House of MCR is set to be an unforgettable celebration of Manchester’s vibrant QTIPOC community, featuring a diverse array of talented performers from across the city’s underground clubland and nu-wave cabaret scene.
Hosted at Aviva Studios, home of Factory International, the show’s 27 performers will showcase their unique skills in a variety of art forms, including dance, singing, lip-syncing, and fashion.
Expect to see an eclectic mix of performances, from the high-energy vogue dancing that has become synonymous with the ballroom scene to emotionally charged lip-sync performances that will leave you in awe.
House of MCR showcasing Manchester’s fiercest QTIPOC talent
Created by Manchester’s own Darren Pritchard and hosted by acclaimed performer, director, and activist Rikki Beadle-Blair, House of MCR will see performers compete nightly across six categories: We Dress, We Sing, We Dance, We Strip, We Lip Sync, and We Are Family. With the audience deciding the winners, each night promises a unique and unforgettable experience.
What’s more, each two-hour performance will be followed by an afterparty hosted by local legends Ghetto Fabulous, Club Zindagi and Swagga.
Throughout the event, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the performers and their stories. Many of these talented individuals have overcome significant obstacles and challenges to be where they are today, and House of MCR provides a platform for them to share their experiences and express themselves through their art.
In addition to the individual performances, House of MCR will also feature group numbers that showcase the sense of community and family that is at the heart of Manchester’s QTIPOC scene. These performances will be a celebration of the bonds that have been forged through shared experiences and a love for self-expression.
With so much talent and passion on display, House of MCR promises to be an unforgettable experience that celebrates the diversity, resilience, and creativity of Manchester’s QTIPOC community. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this landmark event and experience the joy, artistry, and sense of family that makes this scene so special.
