Lil Nas X smooches his Madame Tussauds wax figure at grand unveiling
The Lil Nas X wax figure has been unveiled in Madame Tussauds Hollywood and the star couldn't help but want to kiss himself in celebration.
Lil Nas X took self-love quite literally as, while unveiling his new shining wax figure in Madame Tussauds Hollywood, the star couldn’t help but kiss himself in celebration.
The wax figure replicates the ‘Industry Baby’ singer’s detailed, shining gold Versace suit armour worn at the 2021 Met Gala even down to the Versace earring.
Thrilled to show his wax self on Tuesday (20 September), Lil Nas X shared a series of photos posing with the waxwork on Instagram, adding: “never thought i would get the pleasure of meeting myself. the sexual tension was too much to bare.”
The 23-year-old Grammy-winning sensation has broke convention at every corner but he makes history again with this wax twin being the first wax figure to have a grill, according to Madame Tussaud’s announcement.
“Are we twins or what? I knew this was going to be good but this is like, scary amazing,” he said upon meeting his identical twin in wax form, the resemblance is uncanny!
It looked so real that Lil Nas X took this as the perfect opportunity to prank some of his famous friends on FaceTime.
He called the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Troye Sivan, Steve Lacy, and Lizzo and convinced many of them that he was the wax figure.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Lil Nas into the Madame Tussauds Hollywood family,” Madame Tussauds Hollywood General Manager, Therese Alvich, said.
She continued: “As a musical, social, and fashion icon, this figure marks an extraordinary addition to our museum. We’re excited for his fans to interact with the star’s identical twin!”
Lil Nas X’s Instagram video sees him meet, and leaning in to kiss, his waxwork included a snippet of his upcoming song ‘Star Walkin’’ – which drops on Friday (23 September).
The track is a collaboration with Riot Games and the theme song of the League of Legends’ 2022 Worlds Tournament.
The Attitude September/October issue is out now.
